Job Details
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior IBMi Systems Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize IBM i (AS/400) systems. The role includes server administration, security compliance, performance monitoring, user access control, and disaster recovery planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Server Administration & Maintenance Perform daily OS administration, IBMi Enterprise Extender management, journaling, and system monitoring. Apply security patches, troubleshoot server issues, and maintain documentation.
- User Access & Security Manage user accounts, permissions, access policies, and SSL certificates. Ensure DoD security compliance and support STIG and ACAS resolution.
- Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting Establish system baselines, configure alerts, analyze logs, and troubleshoot issues. Utilize monitoring tools and SysLog for SIEM integration.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery Oversee IBMi BRMS backups, enterprise extenders, and disaster recovery planning.
- Collaboration & Support Work with client, and vendors to resolve technical issues. Support software deployments and infrastructure improvements.
- Training & Documentation Provide knowledge transfer sessions and maintain configuration records.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of IBM i (AS/400) administration experience in a DoD or Federal IT environment.
- Expertise in IBMi Access Client Navigator, BRMS backups, security compliance, and performance tuning.
- Experience with SysLog, SIEM (Microsoft Sentinel), and system monitoring tools.
- Strong troubleshooting, security, and infrastructure optimization skills.
Preferred:
- IBM Certified System Administrator IBM i
- Experience with DFAS/DISA security requirements and compliance.
