Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer for the Content Platform team. This role serves as the first level of support and development for all incoming production software application issues related to merchandising applications. The solutions developed will have a direct impact on customers. This position offers an opportunity to utilize and expand coding skills and gain exposure to a wide variety of software applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as first-level support for production software application issues.
- Develop monitoring solutions for merchandising applications.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and implement fixes for internally developed code.
- Perform SQL queries to analyze and resolve issues.
- Improve systems that gather metrics on software features.
- Update, track, and resolve technical challenges.
- Work alongside development teams on corporate and divisional software projects.
- Enhance current software and automate support processes.
- Create and maintain documentation for systems.
Required Qualifications
Education: A degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field is required.
Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience in software development.
Technical Skills: The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, possess superior verbal and written communication skills, and have strong organizational skills. The ability to work independently and maintain professionalism under pressure is necessary. Required coding skills include Perl, C/C++, and/or Java.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Mason, Perl CGI, and HTML.
- Proficiency with Oracle SQL.
- Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX operating systems.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $42.00 and $52.00 per hour. Contract employees are eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
