Worldwide Technology is looking for a Senior Databricks Developer. This role is part of WWT s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Duration/Type of Job: 6+ months

Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $60 to $80 hourly (Rate range is on C2C basis). Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.

Job Description:

  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines and workflows in Databricks (across all core components: Notebooks, Delta Lake, Databricks SQL, Apache Spark, Databricks Jobs, MLFlow, etc.).
  • Architect and implement ETL/ELT processes to optimally process and transform large-scale datasets from multiple sources.
  • Optimize Spark jobs for performance and cost-efficiency, employing advanced techniques such as partitioning, caching, and cluster configuration tuning.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business problems into technical solutions.
  • Champion code quality, peer code reviews, and adherence to development standards and DevOps (CI/CD) processes within Databricks.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior Databricks developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Drive adoption of new features and evolving best practices in the Databricks ecosystem.
  • Document system architecture, design decisions, and technical solutions.
  • Support data security strategies, compliance standards, and data quality frameworks in all deliverables.
  • Certifications in Databricks, Spark, or cloud data platforms (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with MLOps, MLflow, and integrating data solutions with data science/machine learning pipelines
