Azure Cloud/PBIRS Server Administrator
Long term, Remote position

Job Description:

This DBA Sr contractor position provides analysis, design, development, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting for our databases and servers (On-Prem and Azure Cloud). This position also must be able to do PBIRS Server Admin. This will be a mix of production support work, standard maintenance, as well as small to large projects.

Required Skills and Abilities:
● Seven (7) years of IT DBA experience.
● This position must pass a criminal history records check.
● Azure Cloud experience (Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Azure Boards, Azure Blob Storage, etc)
● Snowflake on Azure Commercial experience preferred

The skills:
* Advanced experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Lake, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure SQL Server
* Advanced experience doing DBA work both On-Prem and Azure Cloud
* Advanced experience working with developers to build ETLs for loading data for reporting
* Advanced experience in PBIRS server administration, upgrades, and support
* Tableau Server administration experience preferred

The work:
* Develop large-scale databases and data warehousing
* Perform database architecture and develop technical standards for large-scale databases for our data warehouse (SQL Server and Azure) on countywide or multi-department platforms.
* Troubleshoot problems and provide technical assistance to developers and database users.
* Provide project management and work with other departments or outside agencies to integrate data from multiple database platforms and data providers.
* Formulate scope and objectives for database projects; define outcomes; develop and recommend solutions; problem solve and build consensus with management, customers, and vendors to negotiate project priorities and outcomes.
* Maintain integrity and security of databases; coordinate and perform database software installations, upgrades, and patches.
* Design, implement, and schedule physical and logical database backups; plan and perform database restoration and recovery.
* Develop database scripts and triggers; migrate data between database environments (development, testing, and production).
* Monitor, adjust, and optimize space utilization and database performance.
* Act as an expert in database architecture and technical standards for large-scale databases and data warehousing

Experience that provides a plus:
* Snowflake experience
* Power BI experience
* Tableau experience
