We are looking for Wireless Network Architect for our client in Dallas, TX
Job Title: Wireless Network Architect
Job Location: Dallas, TX
Job Type: Contract
Job Description:
  • Design and strategy: Develop and maintain wireless network architectures that meet both current and future business and security requirements.
  • Implementation and deployment: Lead the planning and execution of wireless network deployments, from site surveys to final cutover.
  • Performance and optimization: Conduct site surveys and RF analysis, and use tools to monitor performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to improve network efficiency and reliability.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level support for complex network issues, leading troubleshooting efforts with advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, policies, and migration plans.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customers to define requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Technical expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of Cisco's wireless product portfolio, including controllers, access points, and related security and management tools.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers to foster continuous learning and improvement.
Required skills and Experience:
  • Technical: Deep knowledge of Cisco wireless (WLAN) solutions, RF design, site surveys, and troubleshooting techniques. Proficiency with tools like Wireshark, Cisco Catalyst Center, and AirMagnet is often required.
  • Security: Experience with wireless security protocols and products, particularly Cisco ISE, is highly beneficial.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex network issues.
  • Project management: Ability to lead projects from inception to completion.
  • Communication: Excellent technical communication skills to translate business needs into technical solutions and collaborate with various teams.
  • Scripting: Knowledge of scripting languages like Python is often a preferred skill for automation.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in Wi-Fi portfolio, including latest WLCs, Cisco Spaces and Cisco Catalyst Centre.
