Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager IT to join our team in Southern California. This role involves leading complex IT projects, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining quality and budget expectations. As part of this long-term contract position, you will collaborate across departments and manage resources effectively to achieve project goals. This role will be working onsite 4 days per week.
Responsibilities:
Develop detailed project plans and oversee team assignments to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
Monitor progress, identify resource needs, and address issues to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
Track key milestones, adjust plans as necessary, and provide comprehensive status updates to stakeholders.
Facilitate communication across all relevant areas of the organization to manage scope, budget, risks, and resources.
Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-complexity projects using Waterfall or Agile methodologies.
Analyze and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and addressing discrepancies as needed.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project challenges.
Acquire a high-level understanding of business domains to support the delivery of effective solutions.
Handle SaaS and open platform projects, ensuring adherence to best practices and methodologies.
Provide regular reporting on project progress, cost analysis, and issue resolutions to stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Project Management certification or completion of a recognized project management curriculum preferred.
Proven ability to manage complex project and program budgets effectively.
Strong skills in project planning, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality deliverables.
Expertise in conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
Minimum of 10-12 years of IT work experience, including at least 5 years in project management roles.
Ability to collaborate with technical teams and make informed decisions to drive project success.
Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile methodologies, particularly for SaaS and open platform projects.
