Job Description

Position Summary:

Tyto Athene is seeking a Linux System Administrator to support a cloud migration project on a Navy Contract in Suitland, MD. The successful candidate will be mid-senior level in their career with a strong background in Linux Administration and some experience with Windows Administration.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide operations and maintenance support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Microsoft Windows Servers in a classified enterprise environment.
  • Assume the role of technical System Admin Lead, oftentimes mentoring junior personnel.
  • Participate in technical planning, project coordination, scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, and operational support requirements.
  • Develop, deploy, and manage professional service solutions to support Govt systems.
  • Assess current network server systems and make recommendations for improvements based on customer business and technical requirements.
  • Engineer and analyze complex LAN and WAN systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting operating systems and protocol suites.
  • Resolve difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across all platforms including email, file transfer, multimedia and teleconferencing.
  • Support acquisition of hardware and software, as well as vendor services based on technical requirements.
  • Work closely with team members to develop a cloud strategy and cloud architecture.
  • Implement the Risk Management Framework (RMF) life cycle steps to achieve system authorization and operation.
  • Provide support to cybersecurity assessment & authorization (A&A) processes to gain system authorization to operate (ATO).

 

Qualifications:

  • Current active TS/SCI clearance
  • DOD 8570, IAT Level II or III Certification
    • Sec+ CE, CCNA Security, CASP CE, etc.
  • Linux or Red Hat certification (highly desired)
    • Linux+, RHCSA, RHCSE, etc.
  • Bachelors Degree in IT or related field (desired)

 

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 6-8 years of relevant IT experience
  • 3-5 years with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • 2-3 years with MS Exchange Server, MS SQL Server (up to and including 2012), MS SCCM, DNS in a Windows environment, Windows 2008/2012/2016 R2, Windows 7/Windows 10 desktop OS, server patching/software loading, NetApp or enterprise data storage systems, VMWare virtual server environments, PowerShell scripting, Cisco Routing/Switching/Firewalls/UCS, End Point Cybersecurity, Firewall Encryption Devices, Active Directory, and Cloud computing/architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral); able to effectively interact with customers, partners, and associates at all levels, both in person and through virtual telecommunication systems.

 

Location: Suitland, MD (on-site, no remote work available)
