Job Details

Comtech is seeking AV/Tech Support to monitor and manage webcasts of Commission hearings. Tasks include ensuring that streaming and audiovisual equipment function for live webcasts; cameras (if used), microphones and related equipment are appropriately documenting the hearing; live management of sound and video of webcast including camera selection; troubleshooting; managing virtual witnesses through Teams and by telephone.

Hands-on recent experience (within the past two years) in broadcast studio work such as producing TV/radio news programs or multicamera presentations at complex events such as conferences; ability to follow basic elements of a hearing such as its beginning, ending, breaks and confidential sessions.

Three to five years experience working with audiovisual equipment including microphones, video cameras, and broadcasting/webcasting software. The more experience in these areas the better Key Responsibilities:

  • Be on-site for every Commission hearing to monitor and manage webcast operations
  • Set up, test, and maintain audiovisual (AV) equipment, including cameras, microphones, and streaming systems.
  • Manage live webcasts of Commission hearings, ensuring smooth audio and video transmission
  • Operate and control camera angles, sound levels, and video feeds during live sessions..
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in real-time to minimize disruptions during hearings..
  • Coordinate with virtual participants, including witnesses appearing via Microsoft Teams or telephone.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on AV and streaming equipment when not covering hearings.
  • Ensure proper documentation and recording of all Commission hearings
  • Follow hearing proceedings, recognizing cues for start, end, breaks, and confidential sessions.
  • Collaborate with the SCC manager to plan on-site schedules based on hearing timelines.

    Required:

    R1.

    Exp with Multicamera production such as broadcast TV or live streaming of events(3+ Years of experience)

    R2.

    Exp with Webcasting using streaming software(3+ Years of experience)

    R3.

    Exp with A/V experience with microphones, video cameras(3+ Years of experience)

    Desired:

    D1.

    Exp with webcasting of public meetings such as General Assembly, board hearings, and court cases.(3+ Years of experience)
