About the Team:
This position will be part of the US Equity Derivatives team in the Global Banking and Markets Division. The US Equity Derivatives Tech group is part of the Global Technology team that is responsible for building and supporting key applications that service the Equity Derivatives trading desks (primarily the US desk, but also global desks). Purpose of the Job:
We re looking for an Equity Derivatives Full Stack Engineer for our Americas region. The successful candidate will join as a senior technical developer responsible for designing, developing, testing, releasing, and supporting the US Equity Derivatives desk. The candidate will work on small to medium-term projects directly with the US Equity Derivatives desk using technologies such as Python, Excel/VBA, C#, kdb, and Java. This includes supporting existing applications as well as developing new applications based on the needs of the desk.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be a full stack engineer and will be involved in all phases of Equity Derivatives Technology projects, including but not limited to:
- Requirements gathering/analysis, design, architecting, project managing, hands-on development, and implementation.
- Building strategic Equity Derivatives trading infrastructure and migrating existing legacy solutions to target architecture by analyzing, understanding existing tools (Excel/VBA), and either re-designing/re-writing them in a target framework (Java or C#) or partially re-designing them to start the path toward demise.
- Providing technical support for our Equity Derivatives pre-trade and execution stack. This includes supporting both internal and external clients across both internal and vendor platforms. You will be responsible for incident and problem resolution and ensuring best-in-class service to our user base.
- Expertise in performing front-to-back trade reporting and reconciliation support. Analyzing various feeds into and from our systems, providing ideas on how to improve daily operation efficiency, and applying hands-on experience in optimization, including:
- Performing batch environment maintenance and setup.
- Resolving and tracking issues, registering them within the incident reporting system.
- Understanding the product and providing feedback on reported issues.
- Identifying and escalating critical issues promptly.
- Driving a culture of diversity and inclusion, being inquisitive, innovative, data-driven, and focused on continuous improvement and learning within the team.
- Articulating and communicating with a range of stakeholders from traders, external vendors, developers, and engineers.
- Experience in supporting front office trading is highly desirable. Previous development skills are helpful, but the most critical traits are being technically adept, eager to learn, adaptable to new technologies, and open to challenging and being challenged in our technology journey.
Essential Candidate Requirements:
- Strong technical and development skills.
- Strong UNIX/LINUX skills.
- Analytical with excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Equity Derivative Trading systems and exchange connectivity.
- Experience with Relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) or NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
- Strong vendor system knowledge (Sophis) is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with SQL/DB.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to interact and work well with traders, back-office personnel, vendors, futures business, other IT teams, and clients.
