Job Title: Power BI Architect with SAP
Location: Richmond, VA (On-Site)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Architect with strong SAP experience to lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-wide BI solutions. The ideal candidate will architect scalable data models, integrate SAP data sources, streamline reporting frameworks, and guide the overall BI strategy for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
Lead end-to-end architecture and solution design for Power BI implementations.
Develop enterprise-level semantic models, datasets, and dataflows aligned with business needs.
Define and enforce BI best practices, security models, governance, and performance optimization.
SAP Integration
Work closely with SAP functional and technical teams to integrate SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW, HANA, or other SAP systems with Power BI.
Design and optimize data extraction strategies using SAP connectors, OData, BW queries, or Azure Data Factory.
Troubleshoot SAP-to-Power BI data issues and ensure reliable data refresh pipelines.
Development & Delivery
Develop advanced Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and self-service analytics solutions.
Implement row-level security (RLS), data refresh strategies, and usage monitoring.
Support advanced DAX modeling and performance tuning.
Leadership & Collaboration
Partner with business stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into BI solutions.
Provide thought leadership and mentor junior developers on BI standards and methodologies.
Coordinate with data engineering teams to support data architecture and data lake/warehouse integrations.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics roles.
5+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI (architecture, modeling, DAX, governance).
Strong experience integrating and working with SAP data sources (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, HANA, CDS views, etc.).
Solid understanding of Azure services related to analytics (ADF, Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Lake) preferred.
Proven experience designing enterprise-scale BI solutions.
Expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT concepts, and performance optimization.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, SAP Analytics Cloud) is a plus.
Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD for BI, and enterprise governance frameworks.
SAP certification or Power BI certification.
Background in manufacturing, finance, supply chain, or similar SAP-driven domains.
