Derivatives SME with SQL

Job Summary:

Dexian is seeking a Derivatives SME with SQL for an opportunity with a client located in Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities:

• Provide in-depth knowledge of various derivative instruments (e.g., options, futures, swaps, forwards) across different asset classes (e.g., equities, fixed income, commodities, FX)


• Understand the full lifecycle of derivatives, including trade execution, valuation, risk management, collateral management, and settlement


• Stay updated on regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to derivatives


• Analyze, interpret, and validate derivatives-related data from various sources


• Design, develop, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL)


• Perform data reconciliation and troubleshoot data discrepancies related to derivatives


• Develop and generate reports for trading, risk management, regulatory compliance, and other business functions using SQL


• Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders (e.g., traders, risk managers, operations)


• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data and system enhancements


• Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement solutions for derivatives data integration, processing, and reporting


• Provide expert support for derivatives-related data issues and system problems


• Identify root causes of issues and propose solutions


• Act as a point of contact for inquiries related to derivatives data and functionality

Requirements:

• Understanding of derivatives and/or traded products data


• Experience as a data analyst


• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and oral/written communication skills


• Comfortable partnering with business, technology teams and other stakeholders to achieve goals


• Ability to communicate findings to stakeholders and tell a story about the data from a business lens


• Intermediate SQL skills and experience


• Intermediate experience working with Microsoft products like Excel, PowerPoint, etc.


• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment


• Curiosity and thoughtfulness. Digging into the data to find nuggets of information independently and without prompting is a key element for success in this position

• Need Derivatives plus SQL experience

• Banking and/or financial services experience


• Have past experience working with derivatives


• Oracle database experience


• SQL Server database experience


• Accounting experience


• Working with teams across multiple geographies


• Financial acumen


• Experience with Axiom Regulatory Reporting solutions
