Job Details

Comtech LLC is seeking an experienced PeopleSoft Technical Lead to provide enterprise-level technical
leadership, administration, and support for Florida State University s PeopleSoft applications
environment. This position is responsible for overseeing PeopleSoft 9.2 and PeopleTools 8.61
operations, integrations, upgrades, performance tuning, and disaster recovery (DR) readiness.
The Technical Lead will work closely with FSU ITS technical teams to ensure the stability, scalability, and
high performance of PeopleSoft environments supporting multiple modules (Campus Solutions, HCM,
and FSCM). The role will guide and mentor technical staff, manage complex upgrades and integrations,
and ensure alignment with institutional standards, ITIL processes, and SLA objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary technical lead for PeopleSoft architecture, administration, and
infrastructure management.
Manage installation, configuration, cloning, and patching of PeopleSoft 9.2 applications
and PeopleTools 8.61 environments.
Lead performance tuning, system optimization, and capacity planning to ensure reliable
uptime and responsiveness.
Oversee application and database upgrades, including PUM Image updates, DPKs, and
tools upgrades.
Coordinate and manage integration solutions across PeopleSoft modules and external
systems (via REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Broker, or OCI-based middleware).

Implement and maintain disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) strategies to
ensure system resilience and continuity..
Support security configuration, patch compliance, and environment lifecycle
management.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, environment diagrams, and operational
procedures.
Collaborate with FSU ITS stakeholders, database administrators, and development teams
to ensure seamless system performance.
Provide mentorship, training, and knowledge transfer to FSU technical staff and junior
engineers.

5. Expertise and/or Relevant Experience:
Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are mandatory:
M1 Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
M2 8+ years of experience supporting and administering PeopleSoft environments.
M3 Demonstrated proficiency in PeopleSoft 9.2 and PeopleTools 8.60/8.61 (or higher).
M4 Hands-on experience with Tuxedo, WebLogic, Process Scheduler, and App Server
configuration.
M5 Proven expertise in performance tuning, integrations, patching, and upgrades.
M6 Experience implementing DR, backup/recovery, and HA strategies in on-premise or cloud
(OCI) environments.
M7 Proficiency in Oracle Database Administration and SQL scripting related to PeopleSoft
environments.
M8 Familiarity with ITIL-based change, incident, and release management processes.
M9 Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to manage complex technical
incidents.
M10 Excellent communication and documentation skills for stakeholder and leadership
reporting.
Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are desirable but not mandatory:
D1 Experience with PeopleSoft environments hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
D2 Familiarity with OUD, OBIEE, OAC, or Phire Change Management.
D3 Experience managing CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated deployment for
PeopleSoft.
D4 Oracle or PeopleSoft certification preferred.
D5 Prior experience in higher education or public sector ERP implementations.
D6 Knowledge of SOA/Microservices architectures and modern integration patterns.
