SALARY RANGE: $115K-$140K

Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of a Contracts Manager in support of our government contracts. The designated candidate for this position will join a strong, collaborative team environment, providing support and expertise necessary toward the successful delivery of our government projects, and provide effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting statprogress. The place of performance is in Chantilly, VA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contract Management:
    • Review, draft, negotiate, and manage federal government contracts to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific acquisition policies.
    • Maintain accurate contract records and ensure timely renewals, modifications, and closeouts.
    • Coordinate with program managers and legal teams to address contract requirements and resolve issues.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for government contracting officers.
  • Subcontract Management:
    • Develop, negotiate, and administer subcontracts in compliance with prime contract requirements.
    • Ensure subcontractor compliance with FAR/DFARS, agency-specific regulations, and organizational policies.
    • Monitor subcontractor performance, including deliverables, milestones, and budgets.
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for subcontractor performance risks.
    • Facilitate pre-award and post-award subcontractor meetings to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Prepare and submit required reports, certifications, and documentation to federal agencies.
    • Stay current on federal contracting regulations and implement changes as necessary.
    • Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with contract and subcontract terms.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Act as a liaison between internal teams, government agencies, and subcontractors to ensure smooth contract execution.
    • Provide guidance and training to internal staff on contract and subcontract management processes.
    • Support proposal development efforts by providing input on contract terms, pricing, and compliance requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Legal Studies, or a related field. A Master s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 7 years of experience in federal contract and subcontract management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and government procurement processes.
  • Experience managing contracts with federal agencies such as NIH, DoD, GSA, or DHS is highly desirable.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in contract management tools and software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM)
  • Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)
  • DAWIA or FAC-C Level III in Contracting
  • Able to work independently with little to no oversight.
