Location: Orlando, Hybrid (Onsite 3x a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Contract: W2 only, 6-month contract with potential for extension or full-time conversion with either the client or CEI
Pay: $65-70/hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join the DevOps/SRE-oriented Systems Engineering team. This role is essential in provisioning and supporting web and mobile applications within a large-scale enterprise environment, with an emphasis on high availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business engineering and production teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide customer support.
  • Lead project planning efforts, conduct architectural reviews, and drive project objectives.
  • Provision, tune, and automate systems and applications to ensure high availability.
  • Perform systems administration and application maintenance.
  • Create detailed task breakdowns to meet project goals and ensure timely completion.
  • Evolve strategies into multiple project objectives, communicate status updates, and mentor other engineers.
  • Share knowledge and experiences across the organization.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship skills, capable of articulating technical topics to diverse audiences.
  • Proven troubleshooting experience during on-call situations with strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in technical process, incident response, and change management (ITIL).
  • Ability to collect and articulate forensic details for root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated leadership in project planning, architectural design, and mentoring.
  • Technical experience with enterprise systems, web, caching, and queuing technologies.
  • Proficiency in public cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Skilled in containerization and programming languages.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., GIT) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support for SQL and NoSQL databases.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Terraform/Atlantis.
  • Extensive AWS Cloud Services experience: Fargate, ECS, Lambdas, ApiGateways, EC2, S3, ALB/ELB, Elasticache, EKS, KMS-Secret Manager, VPCs, IAM.
  • Monitoring tools: Cloudwatch, Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana.
  • Automation tools: Rundeck, Chef, Ansible, Vault.
  • Message queuing: RabbitMQ, PubSub.
  • Google Cloud Platform services: App Engine, Kubernetes, Cloud Functions, Firebase, IAM.
  • Programming languages: Go, Python, Node.js (Angular.js), Java (Spring MVC).
