Job Details
Job Description: Looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior System Administrator to support our expanding IT infrastructure. As a Junior System Administrator, you will work with our team to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot our Microsoft-based systems, with a primary focus on Azure services, including Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), cloud infrastructure, and other Microsoft technologies. This role offers the chance to grow and advance your skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
This position is perfect for someone who has experience in service desk support and is eager to dive deeper into system administration with a focus on cloud technologies, particularly Azure. You will be exposed to a variety of systems and will have ample opportunity to develop your technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Azure Administration: Assist with the deployment, management, and monitoring of Azure cloud resources, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and more.
Azure Active Directory (Azure AD): Support the management of user accounts, group policies, identity synchronization, and security configurations within Azure AD.
System Maintenance & Support: Perform regular system updates, patches, and maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of servers, workstations, and network devices.
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Provide technical support for end-users by troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues, ensuring timely resolution.
Automation & Scripting: Assist in scripting and automating routine administrative tasks using PowerShell or other relevant tools.
Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Collaboration: Work closely with senior system administrators and IT staff to help deploy new technologies and improve the efficiency of existing systems and services.
Security & Compliance: Help implement and monitor security practices across systems to ensure data protection and compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in a service desk or IT support role, with a basic understanding of system administration.
Technical Skills:
oFamiliarity with Microsoft Windows Server and client operating systems (Windows 10/11).
oBasic experience with Azure services, particularly Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), Azure virtual machines, and other cloud resources.
oUnderstanding of basic networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs).
oExposure to Microsoft 365 or Office 365 environments is a plus.
oExperience with Microsoft Intune and Vonage
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users and work well in a team environment.
Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve system and network issues.
Learning & Development: A desire to learn and grow in the field of system administration, with a focus on cloud technologies like Azure.
Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Network+, or similar certifications are a plus but not required
