Job Title: AWS / Kubernetes Administrator
Location: Hilliard, OH
Job Type: 12 Months Contract Role
Pay Range: $65 to $73 per hr
Responsibilities:
The Cloud Operations Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and operations of technology platforms as well as the managing the availability, integrity and overall operations of their assigned applications and the related cloud software and hardware infrastructure to ensure continuity and achieve a high level of performance and availability. Resource will also be responsible for steering of service providers and the management of software providers and maintenance agreements.
Key accountabilities of the function
Designing, implementing, and operating assigned cloud technology platforms as the technical expert
Leading internal and external resources in the appropriate utilization of cloud technology platforms
Executing ITSM/ITIL processes to ensure ongoing stable operations and alignment with SLAs
Steering providers in the execution of tier 2 and 3 support tasks and SLAs
Resolving escalated support issues
Commissioning, administering, capacity planning and optimizing the associated hardware and software components
Planning and executing upgrades and replacements to ensure that hardware and software components remain supported
Leveraging and enhancing operations tools
Managing 3rd party vendors, software and licenses
Performing routine maintenance, administering access and security levels
Supporting new initiatives through Startup Management (SUM) processes to provide efficient and stable operations
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or certifications.
Work experience, Leadership experience:
5+ Years of demonstrated success in Information Technology, with at least
3+ Years in cloud planning, management and operations
3+ Years in a mid-level IT operations/engineering role
2+ Years specializing in IT Application Operations as a mid-level engineer
1+ Years of experience participating in Agile projects
Key Skills
Demonstrated experience in managing/operating in the AWS Cloud, including:
Infrastructure as code (terraform, cloud formation)
AWS networking and security (VPCs, Route Tables, security groups, etc.)
Identity and Access Management
Experience with EC2 instances, Cloudfront, S3
Certificate mgmt. and DNS in AWS (route 53)
Amazon API Gateway
Demonstrated experience managing/operating Kubernetes in the AWS cloud, including:
Operating Kubernetes workloads in production (scaling of nodes, pods)
Deployment support (knowledge of Kubernetes deployment artifacts
Logging and monitoring
Security
Demonstrated experience with Operating Linux
Demonstrated experience with Bash (and other scripting languages)
Demonstrated experience with Java builds and deployment, including Maven
Technology Preferences (role specific):
3+ years Microsoft Web (IIS)
3+ years Siebel experience
3+ years Middleware experience (Biztalk)
3+ years network infrastructure/operations
3+ years SQL Server
