Business Objects to Power BI Migration Specialist Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and deploy Power BI reports and dashboards by migrating existing SAP Business Objects (BO) reports.

  • Analyze current SAP Business Objects reports, Universes, and data models to fully understand business logic and reporting requirements.

  • Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to gather reporting needs and validate migrated outputs in Power BI.

  • Re-design and optimize reports for improved performance and usability in Power BI.

  • Create and maintain documentation for migration mappings, BO-to-Power BI conversions, and new report designs.

  • Provide support and maintenance for existing SAP Business Objects reports during the migration phase.

  • Optimize and tune Power BI dashboards for performance, including data modeling, DAX, and refresh strategies.

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of BI development and migration processes.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP Business Objects (WebI reports, Universes, Designer).

  • Proven experience migrating BO reports to Power BI.

  • Expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX, data modeling, and Power BI Service.

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with business and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure (ADF, Synapse) is a plus.

  • Power BI Certification (PL-300 or higher) preferred.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
