Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cybersecurity Consultant with a strong background in serving the small and medium-sized business (SMB) market. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the unique cybersecurity challenges faced by SMBs and the expertise to develop and implement effective security solutions tailored to their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consulting and Assessment:
- Conduct comprehensive cybersecurity assessments for SMB clients to identify vulnerabilities and risks.
- Develop and recommend tailored cybersecurity strategies and solutions to mitigate identified risks.
- Provide expert advice on best practices and regulatory compliance related to cybersecurity.
- Implementation and Management:
- Implement and manage cybersecurity solutions including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, endpoint protection, and data encryption.
- Ensure the continuous monitoring of client systems to detect and respond to security incidents promptly.
- Oversee the deployment and configuration of security technologies and tools.
- Training and Awareness:
- Develop and deliver cybersecurity training programs for SMB clients to enhance employee awareness and understanding of security best practices.
- Conduct regular workshops and seminars on emerging cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies.
- Incident Response and Recovery:
- Develop and implement incident response plans to address and recover from cybersecurity breaches.
- Lead incident investigation efforts and provide detailed reports on findings and remediation actions.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with SMB clients, acting as their trusted advisor on all cybersecurity matters.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies to provide cutting-edge solutions to clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- **.** of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on serving the SMB market.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Experience with a variety of cybersecurity technologies and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar are highly desirable.
- Must be located in the Greater Chicago area or Midwest region and willing to travel to client sites as needed.
