Scope of the Project
A state-level organization is seeking a Project Manager to support multiple initiatives related to South Carolina s Medicaid systems. This role involves leading MMIS-related project efforts and coordinating with internal Medicaid IT teams as well as external technical partners. The position requires a highly motivated, self-directed professional capable of managing projects of varying size and complexity.
Daily Duties & Responsibilities
Under limited supervision, the Project Manager will manage and coordinate all tasks related to one or more small-to-large projects or components of larger initiatives. This role reports to the Medicaid IT Services Deputy Director. It is an individual contributor position with no direct HR responsibilities.
Key duties include:
Follow established Medicaid IT Services SDLC processes.
Develop and maintain project documentation throughout the entire lifecycle.
Manage and direct the initiation, planning, execution, control, and closeout phases of assigned projects.
Coordinate and manage projects using standard project management methodologies.
Develop project work plans and ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and deliverables.
Oversee development and execution of communication plans.
Prepare detailed status reports and provide updates to stakeholders and leadership.
Identify project risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
Build and support a collaborative, high-performing project team environment.
Coordinate with Change Management and Release Management processes for system implementations.
Maintain project roadmaps.
Design or support dashboards for project reporting.
Conduct process documentation, collect stakeholder feedback, and present to senior leadership as needed.
May require occasional work beyond 40 hours per week, including weekends, based on project needs.

Bachelor s degree
