Job Description
Some of what you'll be doing:
In this role you will lead and provide hands on technical support to mature, CI-CD processes to ERP team through continuous innovation and process improvements. In this role you will increase Port of Seattle employee’s productivity by providing availability of critical systems, including HCM Time SelfService/Payroll and PeopleSoft Financials.
- You will install, configure, and deploy PeopleSoft Client, PeopleTools, Change Assistant, App Designer, Data Mover, Integration Broker, Crystal Enterprise and client nVision, PUM, Puppet, ElasticSearch stack etc.
- You will act as Technical Lead for projects and have direct responsibility for development of individual components of moderate to high complexity in an Enterprise system.
- You will be responsible for installing, updating, patching, configuring, fine-tuning, and monitoring of the ERP system and will be a primary custodian of custom files and programs, responsible for maintaining proper backups for recovery, complete technical service requests related to system changes and enhancements and work with Developers, other technical ICT Teams, and Business Analysts to implement system solutions.
- You will contribute to architectural directions and new features evaluation and implementation, maintain proper documentation of the ERP System's infrastructure including hardware, software, interfaces, enhancements, patches and other related processes and procedures.
- You will be monitoring of system events (logs) and performance across all the environments for both HCM and financials, fine-tune batch process, interfaces and PeopleSoft programs, develop and maintain batch processes (daily, weekly and monthly), create/modify /support PSQuery and its related issues in both HCM and FSCM. Debug and code SQRs, PeopleCode, Application Engine, nVision, and Queries.
- You will act as Technical Lead for projects and have direct responsibility for development of individual components of moderate to high complexity in an Enterprise system.
- You will lead full lifecycle project implementations, upgrades and customizations with experience and understanding on requirements planning, analyzing, leverage third generation configuration frameworks such as puppet, chef to improve manageability of the environments.
- You will develop system architectures and supporting design documents, work with various engineering teams to develop overall architecture and supporting documentation, shepherd architecture through the overall design process and into implementation.
- You will lead and assist in data administration, modelling and integration activities in ERP systems and design strategic solutions for business problems.
Who you are:
- Experienced – You have six (6) years of in-depth experience in supporting and upgrading PeopleSoft network, database, and application performance and application development.
- Educated – You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience and advanced training in PeopleTools 8.5x & Integration broker.
- Desired – We hope you have nine (9) years in-depth experience in the technical support of PeopleSoft network, database, and application server performance and application development, working well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in high-pressure situations and complex environments and worked with end users in developing effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.

- Knowledgeable – You possess all of the following: knowledge how to Install, Configure, Analyze, Develop, Deploy, Performance Tune, Design/implement PeopleSoft architecture, troubleshoot (PeopleSoft & PS Database issues), maintain/troubleshoot HCM/Financials Middleware, FSCM/HCM Security and apply patches, bundles, Fixes, Tax Updates, ERP databases, SQL server and Oracle. Knowledge on OLTP/OLAP, start schemas, fact schemas and atomic operations. Knowledge on network computing, client server, N-tier, and Service oriented architectures. Windows and Linux.
- Technologically advanced – Your knowledge includes PeopleTools (Application Designer, Data Mover, Integration Broker, Data Mover, Process Scheduler, Query tool, nVision), Change Assistant, Upgrade Assistant, PeopleCode, App Engines, SQR’s, App Packages, Integration Broker, Component Interface, Application messaging, DBCA, PSEMHUB, PSEMAgents, PeopleCode and etc.

What else you need to know:
- Work Schedule – Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). On-Call rotation is required that generally happens every 4 weeks, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies.
- Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid remote/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.
- Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
- Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you will/must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance. You will also be required to obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Customs Seal within 30 days of hire.
