Job Details

The IT Business Analyst will support IT Operations with a focus on infrastructure, continuity planning, and recovery. This role will be responsible for supporting Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) initiatives to ensure the availability of enterprise systems. The Analyst will work closely with infrastructure, operations, and business teams to assess risks, define priorities, and help maintain reliable IT services that support essential business functions. The ideal candidate has experience in infrastructure operations, risk management, and continuity planning. They should also have hands-on experience with DR planning and sequencing, including developing and executing DR strategies, runbooks, and recovery workflows that meet business requirements and expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES

Collects the necessary information required for intake, approval, and prioritization

Partner with IT Operations to assess infrastructure and application recovery capabilities.

Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and Risk Assessments to identify operational vulnerabilities.

Develop and maintain BCP and DR documentation, including system recovery sequencing, detailed runbooks, and recovery workflows to support timely restoration of services

Coordinate and execute DR tests and simulations; track results and remediation actions.

Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to align recovery strategies with operational capabilities.

Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST, FFIEC).

Maintain dashboards and reports on BCP/DR readiness and performance metrics.

Support vendor assessments and third-party continuity planning.

Provide training and awareness to IT and business stakeholders on continuity protocols

MUST HAVE SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Knowledge of cloud-based DR solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure Site Recovery, Oracle OCI/OCVS).

Strong familiarity IT Operations including Data Center, Networking, and Network Security teams.

Ability to assess Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and Risk Assessments to identify operational vulnerabilities.

Develop and maintain BCP and DR documentation, including runbooks and recovery workflows.

Coordinate and execute DR tests and simulations; track results and remediation actions.

Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to align recovery strategies with operational capabilities.

Familiarity with compliance of internal policies and external regulations

Maintain dashboards and reports on BCP/DR readiness and performance metrics.

Support vendor assessments and third-party continuity planning.

Provide training and awareness to IT and business stakeholders on continuity protocols

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Exceptional research and reporting skills

Experience with Microsoft PowerBI is a plus

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Experience with continuity and recovery tools

2-year college degree and/or equivalent work experience

Rate: $50-55/hour (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week. Contract duration is 6 months with possible extensions. This position currently does not offer any benefits.
