Senior network Architect

Job Details

The Senior Network Architect is responsible for providing advanced network support, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution for both routine and highly complex network issues. This role requires independent problem-solving skills to address complex issues with significant customer impact. The Senior Network Architect will make decisions on recovery actions, collaborate with Technical Support Organizations and vendors for complex problems, and implement operational changes as required. This position involves monitoring and maintaining network equipment, ensuring documentation is up-to-date, and applying a comprehensive understanding of technical dependencies and alternatives to support customer needs in a 24x7 environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues escalated to the highest level of support.
  • Participate in Major Incident Management conference calls and lead recovery efforts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incident tickets escalated from junior engineers.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Resolve incidents and complete break-fix changes in accordance with enterprise processes.
  • Collaborate with senior-level internal technology resources and third-party vendors/carriers.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) level support for the entire network infrastructure of the bank, supporting technologies such as routing, switching, F5, firewalls, and proxies.
  • Utilize packet capture technologies to diagnose the root cause of incidents.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and proxy appliances.
  • Manage vendor escalations and work with vendors on complex issues.
  • Update technology incident records and document all troubleshooting, diagnostic, and recovery activities for significant problems.
  • Perform incident record maintenance and adhere to standards for ticket updating, resolving, closing, task creation, and ticket rerouting.
  • Develop and update IT Operations standard operating procedures and recovery documentation.
  • Collaborate with vendors and engineers to develop and enhance documentation.


  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 7-10 years of experience in network engineering or a related role.
  • Extensive experience with network troubleshooting and support in a large enterprise environment.
  • Expertise in network technologies such as routing, switching, F5, firewalls, proxies, and load balancers.
  • Proficiency with packet capture technologies for diagnosing network issues.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and standards.
  • Experience with incident management and problem resolution.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to mentor and train junior engineers.
  • Proven ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Experience with vendor management and escalations.
  • Availability to work in a 24x7 environment and respond to network emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, or equivalent.
  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and practices.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
