Job Details

Job Title: Sr. Electromechanical Design Engineer-DV

Location: Newton, MA

Duration: 12 months contract with possible extension

Shift Details: 9am-5pm

Pay Range: $40-$57/hr w2

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead design of complex DV fixtures from requirements, concept generation, detailed drawings, to design reviews and eventual print release
Support product-level design work as required
Identify improvement points in the line-up of DV fixtures
Assist in development of firmware and software requirements for fixtures
Author relevant documents related to fixture designs and DV tests
Fixture qualifications and process validation
Maintain disciplined test, configuration control, documentation, and configuration management processes throughout
Support a variety of multi-disciplinary technical and process improvement projects of different sizes and scopes
Help with the vendor communications and procurement issues
Manage and communicate assigned projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Qualifications:
8+ years' work experience in complex electromechanical system R&D environment
Bachelor's and/or Masters degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering or a close field is required
Experience in heavily-regulated industries such as medical device or aerospace is required
Must have hands-on experience in design, assembly and testing of electro-mechanical systems
Knowledge of industry best practices for development of complex electromechanical systems
Familiarity with ASME V&V (Verification & Validation) 40 a plus
Previous experience in design transfer/new product introduction highly desired
Demonstrated CAD proficiency highly desired. Solidworks preferred
A working knowledge of DFM/A, Six Sigma, and statistical tolerance analysis is required
Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECOs required
A working knowledge of ASME drafting standards including GD&T (Y14.5-2018)
Proficient in developing production and fixture documentation including bills of material (BOMs), assembly drawings/instructions, instruction for use, calibration, and maintenance instructions.
Experience with statistical tools and software such as Minitab is desired
Prior experience in fixture and process validation.
Experience using, modifying, and programing in MATLAB Simulink or LabView is desired
Must have experience in cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership
Must have experience in project management including task timeline estimation and work breakdown structures
Able to execute assigned projects and duties with minimal supervision
Outstanding documentation and communication skills required
Proficiency in using MS Office required
