Job Details

Role and Responsibilities
1. AX 2012 Landscape Assessment
Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the existing AX 2012 environment covering:
o Business processes (Finance, Procurement, Inventory, Production, Sales)
o Customizations, ISVs, integrations, and data models
o Current pain points, limitations, and technical debt
Assess the fit-gap between AX 2012 capabilities and D365 standard functionalities.
Identify dependencies, risks, and constraints impacting the migration.
2. Solution & Migration Blueprint
Define the target-state D365 architecture across Finance & SCM modules.
Prepare a clear migration roadmap covering:
o Data migration strategy
o Customization rationalization and redesign
o Integration modernization (Dataverse, Power Platform, Azure stack)
o Reporting and analytics transformation (Power BI, BYOD)
Define environments, deployment model, and ALM approach in alignment with Microsoft best practices.
Establish guiding principles for standardization and process harmonization.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
Run workshops with business users, functional leads, and IT teams to validate requirements and future-state design.
Work closely with technical architects to align functional and technical considerations.
Present findings, solution options, and recommendations to senior leadership.
4. Governance & Quality
Ensure solution alignment with Microsoft FastTrack and global best practices.
Define functional design standards, documentation templates, and review mechanisms.
Review all functional deliverables and ensure completeness for design signoff.
5. Leadership & Advisory
Act as a trusted advisor on D365 capabilities, licensing, roadmap, enhancements, and best practices.
Provide guidance on process simplification, automation, and adoption of next-gen features (Finance Insights, Planning Optimization, WMS, Asset Management, etc.).
Mentor functional consultants and support delivery teams during estimation and planning.

Required Skills & Experience
Functional Expertise
Deep hands-on knowledge of Dynamics AX 2012 and D365 Finance & SCM modules:
o Finance, GL/AP/AR, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank, Project Ops (optional)
o Procurement & Sourcing, Inventory, Warehouse, Production, Master Planning, Sales
Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and cross-module dependencies.
Migration Expertise
Proven experience in large-scale AX-to-D365 migrations.
Strong understanding of data migration frameworks, data entities, and cutover planning.
Experience rationalizing & redesigning customizations in alignment with D365 best practices.
Technical Appreciation
Good understanding of D365 extension model, integrations (OData, DMF, Dual-write), security model, and reporting stack.
Familiarity with Power Platform, Azure services, Logic Apps, and Microsoft ecosystem.
Consulting & Leadership Skills
Strong communication, workshop facilitation, and presentation skills.
Ability to translate complex functional requirements into clear, structured documentation.
Experience working in multi-geography, multi-business-unit environments.

Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft certifications in D365 Finance and Supply Chain.
Experience with industry-specific implementations (Manufacturing, Retail, Distribution).
Exposure to FastTrack governance and enterprise architecture frameworks.
Knowledge of Agile/Hybrid delivery methodologies.
