Your impact

Jacobs is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join our Bridges team in Irvine, California in Summer 2026, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and be involved in a variety of engineering tasks for both private and public sector clients; such as design, analysis, and maintenance of various structural systems including bridges, and other infrastructure projects.

In this position you will work with a multidisciplinary team taking on a variety of tasks that blend your theoretical knowledge with practical application. Under the guidance of professional engineers, architects and other senior technical staff you'll have the opportunity to work on projects that focus on structural design and analysis of bridges.

Your Responsibilities May Include:

Performs evaluations of structures of various degrees of complexity

Contribute to the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and reports

Participate in project meetings and communicate with clients under supervision

Here's what you'll need

In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Ideally, You Will Have:

Pursuing a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Structural Engineering

3.0 GPA

Familiarity with MicroStation or AutoCAD

A previous internship related to bridge design

Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future

Posted Salary Range: Minimum

45,000.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

65,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $45,000.00 to $65,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
