Job Description
CFD Research is seeking a talented Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) with an active Secret clearance, to join a well-established team supporting the development of tools for the Air Force Research Laboratory, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. We are searching for an engineer with experience developing aerospace models and simulations in support of complex system analysis objectives. Our team is integrating multi-physics-based modeling and simulation tools to characterize hypersonic systems. The engineer will design, develop, test, and document simulations in SysML Cameo System Modeler.
Candidates must have Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML diagraming skills and have some knowledge in aerospace systems. The qualified candidate must also be able to work independently and have effective writing and verbal communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities: • Develop MBSE Models of Concept Hypersonic Vehicles • Support Development of Physics-based Modeling and Simulation Workflows • Support Development of Physics-Informed Machine Learning Modeling Capability for MBSE Elements • Develop aerospace models and/or components into current modeling environment • Produce high confidence answers to problems of interest on aerospace systems • U.S. Citizenship is required
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems, Computer, Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or other related) or Computer Science. Preferred Qualifications: • Active DoD Secret clearance and ability to secure a TS/SCI • Experience in working with Air Force Research Lab models, including radars, aircraft, missiles, space vehicles, AFSIM, MATLAB, Simulink, and Simulink Coder. Location: This role is based in the Dayton, Ohio area, and is 100% onsite.
