Mainframe Systems Programmer

ONSITE INTERVIEW IS REQUIRED IN RESTON VA. CANDIDATES LOCATED IN VIRGINIA, MARYLAND, WASH DC, PA, W.VA OR DELAWARE WILL ONLY BE CONSIDERED.

Vega Consulting Solutions is actively staffing a Mainframe Systems Programmer for our direct client located in Reston, VA. This is a hybrid role that will require candidates to attend quarterly meetings in Reston, VA.

Candidate will be supporting various project teams and their mainframe related needs on a day-to-day basis.

• Candidate will leverage their skills to automate configuration processes on the mainframe using above toolset.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot mid-tier/infrastructure issues.
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to facilitate technical requirement gathering and design sessions.
• Collaborate and interpret business and technical needs.

• 5+ years experience as a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer
• Infrastructure Engineer with hands-on experience
• Experience building robust mainframe environments.
• Scripting and process automation experience is required.
• Must have extensive knowledge of mainframe systems methodology and frameworks.
• This position requires advance knowledge of Development and Production environments.
• z/OS Systems Programming experience
• CICS TS for z/OS
• CICS Webservices
• MQ for z/OS
• DB2 for z/OS
• Control-M for z/OS
• IBM System Automation for z/OS
• REXX Programming
• z/OSMF - working knowledge of workflows.
