Conversational AI Engineer Google Dialogflow & RAG

We are seeking a Conversational AI Engineer with deep experience in Google Conversational AI technologies and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to help build a next-generation AI platform that delivers timely, accurate health insurance information to members and providers across digital channels.

In this role, you will architect, implement, and optimize advanced conversational experiences using Google s AI stack, integrating enterprise data sources to deliver context-aware and trustworthy responses. You will collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to shape requirements, influence platform features, and deliver scalable, user-centric solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience building AI-enabled applications.
• 2+ years of hands-on chatbot development with Google Dialogflow CX, Vertex AI, or equivalent platforms (Lex, LivePerson, Kore.ai, Watson).
• 2+ years applying NLP and training data best practices in production environments.
• 2+ years working with enterprise-grade chatbot frameworks integrated with backend APIs and data systems.
• 1+ year experience with RAG or integrating external knowledge sources into LLM workflows.
• 1+ year experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, unit testing, and source control.
• 1+ year experience with cloud development/deployment principles (Google Cloud Platform preferred).
• Experience working in Agile environments with DevOps processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Backend development experience in Java, Node.js, or Python.
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Prior work with Google Cloud Speech-to-Text, Vertex AI Search, or similar voice/IR technologies.
• Familiarity with SSML for TTS enhancements.
• Experience integrating unstructured data (semantic search, embeddings) into conversational systems.
