Payroll Product Manager

Location: Remote

Duration: 24 months contract

Job Description:

  • Translate product strategy/Epics into actionable user stories and a prioritized backlog aligned with business and customer needs.
  • Serve as the customer advocate during agile ceremonies, ensuring clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with engineering, design, and QA to deliver high-quality, user-centered SaaS features.
  • Manage backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release readiness to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Conduct demos and gather stakeholder feedback for continuous product refinement.
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure timely and successful product releases.
  • Partner with implementation and support teams to collect feedback, and address issues as they arise.
  • Able to understand the technical and functional tradeoffs required to support larger payroll customers and reflect them in the requirements.
  • Understand end-to-end US payroll workflows: earnings, deductions, taxes, retro pay, garnishments, GL integration, and direct deposits
  • Be able to understand and translate US federal, state, and local payroll compliance laws, including taxation, wage & hour rules, and year-end reporting (W-2, 1099, etc.).
  • Understand and account for the impact of integrations with other HRIS products like Time and Attendance and Benefits, when designing and implementing features.
