TEKsystems is hiring a Lead Fire Alarm Technician in the Greater Nashville Area.

Position Overview

As a Lead Fire Alarm Technician, you'll be responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial fire alarm systems. You'll work closely with project managers and clients to ensure systems are installed to code and functioning at peak performance. This role is ideal for a seasoned technician ready to take ownership of projects and mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and inspect commercial fire alarm systems in accordance to local codes
  • Program, troubleshoot and repair fire alarm system components including panels, detectors, and notification devices
  • Coordinate with general contractors, electricians, and other trades on job sites
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, inspections, and service calls
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior technicians
  • Travel to job sites as needed (valid driver's license required)

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Technician in commercial environments
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems (e.g., Honeywell, Notifier, Silent Knight, Fire-Lite, EST, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • NICET certification (preferred but not required)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
