POSITION OVERVIEW

The Infrastructure Engineer will be a key contributor to the Technology & Information Architectures team, focusing specifically on the administration and maintenance of IBM i (AS/400) systems. This role ensures the integrity, performance, and security of critical systems through daily monitoring, maintenance, and technical support.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate is an Expert (P4) Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background (5+ years) in maintaining and administering IBM i (AS/400) environments, including hardware, firmware, and associated software. They should be a dedicated professional who is willing to work in the office in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, and possess excellent problem-solving skills for critical system support.

Job Responsibilities

Perform IBM i administration, including system installs, PTF deployment, and HMC maintenance.

Perform system firmware, software installation, configuration, and security requirements.

Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.

Review system logs, application logs, and verify the successful completion of scheduled jobs, such as backups.

Perform problem isolation, definition, resolution, and follow-up for system, application, and customer problems.

Provide monthly reporting regarding system performance and assist with capacity planning requirements.

Maintain 3rd party software applications and participate in Disaster Recovery testing.
