6-12+ Month Contract Position 

Location - Chicago, IL (3 days a week onsite)

Our client is looking to add a Senior Endpoint Engineer to join our Endpoint Engineering team. As a member of the Endpoint Engineering Team, the Endpoint Engineer provides daily support and maintenance of the endpoint hardware, operating systems, applications, and associated infrastructure software. This role includes solving critical business incidents and collaborating with Traders, Service Desk personnel, and other support staff.  A strong customer focus, proactive demeanor, ownership attitude, and sense of urgency are critical.

  • Coordinate the design and implementation of endpoint system infrastructures, applications, and related products, with a focus on systems planning, security principles, and software management standard methodologies.
  • Adopt a data driven approach to analyzing and resolving complex challenges.
  • Apply an engineering approach and automation to enhance service delivery and boost user happiness.
  • Solve software-related issues, particularly in high-speed, fast paced trading environments.
  • Research new technologies and solutions to optimize workflows.
  • Participate in strategic and tactical meetings as needed and develop and implement solutions in collaboration with the team.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation with the team for off-hours support.

This position will consist of 70% Project work vs. 30% Maintenance

What skills we’re looking for:

  • Highly proficient in administering Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems a plus.
  • Experience handling users, groups, and computers within Microsoft Entra ID (Azure) and Active Directory (AD), Microsoft M365 and Jamf for MacOS.
  • Demonstrable understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware and Citrix, with knowledge of VSAN, HCI, and node/cluster management.
  • Solid grasp of Windows Server roles like DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and File Services.
  • Solid understanding of scripting with PowerShell, VBScript, or Python.
  • Ability to build and deploy standardized Windows images using SCCM OSD, Altiris, and Intune Deployment Services, and package applications for deployment via SCCM and Altiris.
  • Strong experience in technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience with fundamental networking principles, including network switch and router configuration.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, RedHat, and CCNA are advantageous.

The anticipated hourly rate range for this position is ($70/hr-$90/hr). Actual hourly rate will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
