Title: Senior Mainframe Developer

Important Note: Position will be remote. Position may require team members to come into the office for scheduled meetings, and there may be unscheduled requests with seventy-two (72) hour notice. Texas local candidates only.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
The Worker(s) will provide the following services: As a Systems Analyst in the IT Project Management Office, responsible for overseeing the analysis, design, and implementation of Unemployment Insurance projects, managing one or more projects concurrently to ensure successful delivery. Complete evaluations of existing and future capabilities, conduct research into solution alternatives, enhance system capabilities, and providing advice to stakeholders. Participate in joint application design sessions with customers and IT staff to define business requirements and develop software systems requirements. Communicate effectively with users to determine requirements of new processes and applications or modifications to existing processes and applications. Be actively involved in implementations and upgrades in a low code platform. Perform system configuration, document business processes and prepare project documentation with a high level of attention to detail, strong organization skills and technical aptitude. Use standardized project management processes, tools and techniques to address project needs. Develop test artifacts, conduct testing including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and develop training documentation for various team projects. Work closely with developers to track defects and resolutions. Perform deep technical and analytical reviews to analyze system functionality with customer and resolve production issues. Assist with creating, maintaining and enforcing global standards. Perform other analysis and documentation tasks as required to facilitate and support team projects. Assist in the diagnosis of problems associated with applications and writes detailed specifications for developing or correcting issues to improve system performance and/or accuracy. Perform other duties as assigned to maintain operations.
Minimum Requirements:
Years Skills/Experience
4-7 Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements and developing software specifications
4-7 Experience documenting detailed requirements for information technology solutions that will meet program and user needs
4-7 Experience with DB2 Table designs
4-7 Experience and Knowledge of Mainframe Programming language: Natural, COBOL
4-7 Experience in various documentation techniques such as Requirements Traceability Matrix, Software Design Document, Software Requirements Specification User Stories, Use Cases, Data Flow Diagrams, User Interface Designs
4-7 Demonstrated ability in working with stakeholders and development team. Experience facilitating productive meetings to formulate business requirements and communicate stakeholder needs to technical staff
4-7 Experience in creating test plans and complex test scenarios in cooperation with business and technical groups
4-7 Experience executing test plans, assisting team members in performing and completing test activities; Coordinate, monitor, and perform testing, and facilitate user acceptance testing
4-7 Experience identifying, analyzing and documenting software defects; assists developers in analyzing and resolving defects
4-7 Experience writing and executing SQL statements to verify test results
4-7 Experience with Java applications
4-7 Experience using Visio to develop workflow
4-7 Thorough knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies
4-7 Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders and IT team and function as a liaison between the two groups
