Job Details

Role - SAS Viya Administrator

Duration: 6 months (right now for the first WO)

Location: Remote, Consultant has to live in the US (EST work hours)

VISA Requirement:  Due to the nature of the job, ONLY can be considered for this role

Positions available: SAS Viya Administrator

Technical Skills:   Standard SAS Admin Skillset - Preference for resources who have provided support for large enterprise scale SAS Environments and System Admin experience.

Pre-Requisites/ Requirements for Resources:

  1. Full-time - 40 hours week
  2. Standard background checks for Hosting accounts
  3. Hands-on deployment and integration/configuration experience on Linux-based platforms (SAS9 or Viya 3.5)
  4. Nice to haves:
    1. SAS Solutions Experience
    2. Infrastructure knowledge/background
    3. Regulatory deployment experience
    4. Experience with external customer-oriented phone and written communication experience

Summary Info:

Resources need to have the technical skillset to deploy SAS products/solutions and configuring remote data sources for the software to connect to. For SAS 9 and Viya 3.5, we deploy on Linux-based servers, so Unix/Linux skills are required. In addition to the technical skills, the resources would need to be comfortable speaking with customers to walk them through the configuration and requirements required from their internal IT staff.

Team members that are most successful are those that understand the infrastructure as well as the SAS software.

  • Preferred Experience:  
  1. Strong Unix\Linux scripting experience (bash, Korn..etc) ..  must have really strong experience with scripting
  2. Then Strong SAS Platform Administration skills – Viya3.5 and\or 9.4 Platform

Subcontractor shall provide the following Services as directed by client: 

Provide general SAS operational solution support. Without limitation, Services may include the following as it relates to Customer environments:

  • Provide day-to-day, general operational support for SAS solutions operating in the Customer environment.
  • Use and manage SAS’ Application Monitoring Software to monitor the Software and System and collect metrics for event management, incident management, problem management and change management. “Application Monitoring Software” means software used by SAS under the applicable Customer Agreement to collect data to verify the availability and performance of the Customer environment.
  • Utilize SAS processes to support event management, incident management, problem management and change management, as applicable.
  • Maintain all necessary credentials required to access the Customer environments.
  • Work collaboratively with Customers, analysts, developers, SAS personnel and other team members to establish ownership and accountability while driving value from the SAS environment for the Customer.
  • Manage, diagnose, and debug SAS and other third-party enterprise class software systems.
  • Diagnose, document, report, and resolve system problems in complex technical environments.
  • Create and maintain technical and procedural documentation.
  • Complete such training and background check requirements as SAS or Customers may reasonably require.
  • Perform such other activities as client may reasonably request.
