Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $139,000 and $224,840. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.

This role sits within the Strategic Foresight team as part of Autodesk Research. It spans the company in terms of crafting a strategic viewpoint on Autodesk's role in helping people imagine, design, and make a better world.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and communicate a strategic point of view on the future of architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), product design and manufacturing (PD&M), and media/entertainment (M&E) as input to Autodesk's technical and business strategy
- Design and execute quantitative and qualitative research to inform Autodesk's understanding of current social, technological, economic, environmental, and political trends
- Interpret insights from diverse reports and datasets to extract actionable strategic intelligence
- Influence strategic decision-making in the form of workshops, presentations, compelling narratives, and deep one-on-one professional relationships with senior leaders
- Collaboratively author a variety of materials that communicate complex ideas in clear and highly impactful ways
Minimum Qualifications
- Masters, MBA, or PhD degree, and 5 years of work experience in strategic foresight, future studies, data journalism, data analysis in the social sciences, or related field
- Working knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research tools and methodologies
- Outstanding interpersonal skills to build strong relationships throughout the organization
- Impactful, polished, and adaptable communicator - written, visual, and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion
- Strong work ethic and commitment to making a positive impact
- Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities of the software industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management experience
- AEC, PD&M, or M&E experience
- Workstyle characterized by decisiveness and pragmatism
- Familiarity with Autodesk software
