Client is a U.S.-based pharmaceutical manufacturer specializing in sterile injectable generics. Operating out of a state-of-the-art, FDA-approved facility in Chandler, Arizona, we are dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable medications to hospitals, clinics, and healthcare systems nationwide.
We are expanding our institutional sales division and seeking a results-driven Assistant Director of Sales to help grow our presence across hospital networks, group purchasing organizations (GPOs), and health systems.
Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Sales Institutional will be responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with hospital systems, GPOs, and other institutional accounts. This role will drive sales growth, optimize contract performance, and ensure alignment with Client s business objectives in the institutional pharmaceutical market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business development efforts within hospital and GPO channels.
- Identify and pursue new institutional sales opportunities nationwide.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with pharmacy directors, purchasing groups, and supply chain executives.
- Monitor competitive activity and provide market intelligence to senior leadership.
- Track performance metrics, revenue growth, and profitability within the institutional segment.
- Support the VP of Sales in strategic planning, forecasting, and team development.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor s degree in business, Life Sciences, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, with at least 3 years in institutional, hospital, or GPO sales.
- Proven success managing large healthcare accounts and multi-state territories.
- Strong understanding of GPO contracting and hospital procurement.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel (up to 40%).
Preferred:
- Experience with injectable or generic product lines.
- Familiarity with Vizient, Premier, and HealthTrust GPO systems.
