As Director of Software Engineering, you will lead the transformation of Nasdaq's Global Index Watch platform, shaping the technology strategy that powers how clients interact with our index products worldwide. You will be accountable for building and scaling high-performing engineering teams, driving innovation through emerging technologies, and ensuring alignment between technical execution and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities - Lead and develop a team of full-stack software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Define and execute the technical strategy for Nasdaq's next-generation Index platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and exceptional client experience.
- Partner with product management, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver cloud-based solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight on architecture decisions, modern engineering practices, and emerging technology adoption.
- Drive organizational efficiency through resource planning, budget management, and operational excellence across engineering initiatives.
- Represent engineering leadership in strategic initiatives, contributing to organizational goals and cross-functional transformation efforts.
Required Qualifications - 8+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in modern full-stack technologies (e.g., C#, .NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Java, Python).
- 4+ years of proven leadership experience managing and developing engineering teams in fast-paced, high-impact environments.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker).
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities with a track record of delivering complex technical programs.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
- Experience in financial services, capital markets, or fintech environments.
- Relevant certifications in software development, cloud architecture, or leadership (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified ScrumMaster).

The base pay range for this role is $124,000 - $229,000. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual boncommission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
