Our client is undertaking a technical modernization. Our client is seeing 2 Senior .NET Developers that will play a key role in transforming the portal s frontend from legacy .NET Framework 4.8 (ASP.NET Web Forms in VB.NET) to modern .NET 10 using Blazor or MVC. You will collaborate with backend engineers and cross-functional state IT teams to deliver secure, accessible, and scalable web applications that integrate with both legacy and modern infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the development of frontend components using .NET 10 (Blazor or MVC), C# and JavaScript. Convert legacy VB.NET Web Forms to modern C# architecture. Integrate frontend with WCF services and a state identity management system for authentication. Ensure code quality through unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation. Collaborate with agency staff on design reviews, development progress, and deployment planning. Follow industry best practices for secure, accessible, and maintainable code. Participate in iterative development cycles with regular demos and feedback loops.
EDUCATION: Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science
Required Skills and Experience: 5+ years of experience in .NET development, including .NET 6/7/8/10. Strong expertise in C#, Blazor and/or ASP.NET MVC. Experience with legacy system modernization, especially migrating from VB.NET Web Forms. Proficiency in JavaScript and HTML/CSS. Familiarity with WCF services, Oracle databases, and GitHub Enterprise. Experience with secure coding practices and accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG 2.1 AA). Knowledge of DevOps pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and CI/CD practices. Experience working in agile or iterative development environments.
Desired Competencies: Experience with SQL/Entity Framework. Familiarity with Atlassian Jira. Deep understanding of enterprise software development best practices. Strong documentation and communication skills. Ability to analyze architectural trade-offs (e.g., Blazor vs. MVC). Thought leadership in proposing innovative solutions and architectural improvements.
