ERP/CRM Consultant

Description

We are looking for an experienced ERP/CRM Consultant to provide senior functional leadership for a Workday engagement in Chicago, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position will guide business-facing decisions across Human Capital Management and Financials, helping ensure the solution is configured appropriately, tested thoroughly, and prepared for a successful launch. The role works closely with internal stakeholders and implementation partners to maintain functional quality, support governance, and keep the platform aligned with operational needs.

Responsibilities:
Provide subject matter leadership for Workday business processes spanning human resources, payroll, finance, budgeting, procurement, and related operational areas.
Review business needs and process workflows to confirm requirements are properly reflected in system design, documentation, and functional outcomes.
Monitor configuration quality and data integrity to ensure the platform supports business objectives and follows established standards.
Examine deliverables created by external implementation teams and approve functional outputs before key project milestones.
Direct functional testing activities by coordinating system validation, user acceptance efforts, issue review, and resolution tracking.
Assess security structures, role assignments, and control measures to verify appropriate access and compliance alignment.
Act as the main point of escalation for functional risks, design concerns, and decision-making that could affect deployment success.
Support launch readiness through cutover planning, operational preparedness reviews, and continuity planning for business teams.

Requirements

Proven experience leading or advising Workday implementations with responsibility across both HCM and Financials functions.
Strong understanding of enterprise process design, requirements analysis, testing validation, and production readiness assessment.
Background overseeing third-party implementation partners and maintaining accountability for quality and delivery standards.
Ability to evaluate configuration decisions, security design, and functional documentation with a high level of accuracy.
Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment while managing priorities across multiple stakeholder groups.
Experience with business requirement documentation, configuration management, and enterprise application integration concepts.
Familiarity with technical and platform-related capabilities such as API development, client-side scripting, or Salesforce development is valued.
