Job Details

We are working with a leading provider of high-density, high-performance colocation solutions in the Bay Area. This client is changing the national retail colocation and data center marketplace. Specializing in supporting the deployments of High Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and private and hybrid cloud infrastructure. They are seeking a highly skilled Linux and Windows Systems Administrator to join their team on a contract basis.

You'll work with the IT Operations team for this position and be responsible for configuring and managing the company's IT systems that support their network, server and facilities infrastructure. Their environment is a 90% Linux environment for production systems with extensive use of open-source virtualization and IAAS deployment systems. They currently manage over 100 virtual machines for their internal systems. Python is their scripting language standard. There is an extensive need for supporting windows systems administration for both production and corporate environments, in addition to the use and creation of the scalable backend automation tools that their systems require. Lastly, provide day to day technical assistance to internal customers.

Contract Duration: 6+ Months, onsite in Santa Clara, CA
Required Skills & Experience
  • 3-5 years of current experience working in systems administrator roles
  • Linux and Windows system administration and troubleshooting
  • Single sign on Identity providers- Authentik, In-Tune, Okta, Active Directory, LDAP
  • Automated provisioning and deployment of laptops
  • KVM or Xen Virtualization
  • Software containerization with Docker or Kubernetes
  • Automated software configuration management tools with Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
  • Open source analytics and visualization tools with Grafana and Prometheus
  • Monitoring systems with Nagios or Zabbix
  • Infrastructure support software DNS BIND, Apache, Linux clustering and Postfix
  • Scripting Python, BASH and/or PowerShell
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience managing an MDM environment
  • Besic Cisco network configuration and troubleshooting
  • Any database management experinece
  • Education in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or other related disciplines
  • IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields are a plus
