JD:

Operate our AWS Data Infrastructure composed of different services like RDS Aurora (MySQL and PostgreSQL), Redshift, DynamoDB, across multiple regions.

Support developers using database best practices as well as doing workload analysis and performance tuning.

Collaborate across the organization to improve operations, efficiency, and customer experience.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to develop robust database testing capabilities and test plans.

Ensure that all databases, when appropriate, are architected for high availability and disaster recovery.

Ensure databases are performing at optimal levels per application requirements.

Willingness and ability to perform "hands-on" DBA work and SQL query writing when necessary.

Manage the vendor relationship of all databases related 3rd party providers.

Direct the work of 3rd party database administration team and extended team members.

Develop and maintain automation for routine management processes.

Develop and maintain monitoring, diagnostics, and debug tooling to improve detection and response to application and infrastructure issues.

Maintain appropriate controls and documentation to support compliance initiatives.

Work with software architects and developers to design and implement cloud solutions.

Drive innovation through the ongoing evaluation, design, and implementation of new technology.

Provide continuous feedback to the Product, Engineering, and Cloud Operations teams.

Analyze and troubleshoot infrastructure issues, identify their root causes, and implement improvements to prevent their recurrence.

Administer and manage SaaS applications and infrastructure in AWS.

Respond to incidents and contribute to retrospectives and postmortems.

Mentor other Cloud Operations team members and champion best practices within the team.

Act as a key contact with customers who have technical issues.
