Job Description
This is a C2H role. This will start out 100% REMOTE, but at some point you will be asked to go into the office a few times per quarter, maybe 1 time per month. There is no timetable when this will go into effect. W2 ONLY NO C2C NO 1099, NO 3rd PARTIES, W2 ONLY and NO SPONSORSHIP. The rate range will be $60-$70 hr w2, depending on whether or not you have lead experience because if you do then that could be all you do, day in, day out, assist the developers. Will also take candidates that have no lead experience but want to grow into that role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contractor will perform the necessary analysis and design tasks related to the development of an enterprise solution architecture aligned with the IT Strategy and Business Strategy for assigned project work.
- Contractor will follow the principles, patterns and frameworks associated with Enterprise Solutions Architecture.
- Contractor is responsible for the Solution Architecture design, including establishing the architecture and roadmap for custom-based, best of breed and suite based solutions used within IBC for assigned project work.
- Contractor is required to have a strong knowledge of industry based solutions used within the healthcare plan industry as well as best practiced for integrated solutions.
- Contractor has to work closely with application development teams to assist them in creating both conceptual and physical models early on in the project life-cycle for assigned project work.
- Contractor may assist in the development of IT Roadmaps and future state solutions.
- Contractor may assist in the development or refinement of the Enterprise Architecture Reference Model.
- Follow Solutions Architecture associated principles and align to corporate policies and overall future state model of applications associated data stores, and integration needs, for assigned project work.
- Create appropriate documentation to support architecture checkpoints and artifacts related to the solutions architecture reference model for assigned project work.
- Supports current and future state mapping and planning for applications for assigned project work.
- For assigned project work, follow common application architecture guidelines based on services oriented concepts, model driven techniques, and future based composite applications.
- Understand infrastructure capabilities, review and support of future state physical models, working to leverage existing infrastructure capabilities for assigned project work.
- Follow process, methodology support and adherence to SLC assisting project management offices and associated governance boards during project reviews for assigned project work.
- May consult with application development projects to review the fit of application systems to the enterprise solution architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the application to accommodate new solutions for assigned project work.
REQUIREMENTS
- Documentation of all solution architecture design and analysis work for assigned project work.
- Strong sense of market trends and new and emerging capabilities within the insurance industry
- Knowledgeable in Rational Unified Process, frameworks (e.g Zachman), etc.
- Good understanding of modeling tools, impact and traceability analysis
- Excellent understanding of the application frameworks such as those supported by J2EE and .NET
- Strong understanding of Services Oriented Architecture concepts, patterns and principles
- Ability to see common patterns and usages among multiple application areas parsing out specifics versus general requirements to drive to common solution base
- Understanding of multi-tier application architectures, performance and scalability of applications, Basic familiarity with enterprise integration toolset such as TIBCO, SeeBeyond or IBM WebSphere toolsets
Soft Skills and Knowledge
- Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
- Excellent written, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical ideas in to understandable business terminology
- Good knowledge of business and information and state of the art solutions used within the healthcare industry
- Good process and methodology understanding of software development, deployment, associated workflows and roles/responsibilities
EXPERIENCE
- 7-10 years experience in SLC development with deep understanding of application development and architectures
- 3-4 years experience in leading application teams in developing applications working as a team design lead, technical or project architect
- 1 year or more building large systems and delivering utilizing and adhering to SLC processes
- Bachelor’s Degree (Master of Business Degree preferred as well) in Computer Science
- Full Stack Developer

- Looking for a developer who has core leadership skills, some exposure to leading teams.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
MUST live within the Tri-State area, PA, NJ, or DE
Onsite requirement (1x a month then eventually 1 X a week – this might not always be the case, especially not for the next 3-6 months but eventually 1x week will be the expectation)
