Sr. to Lead Front End Software Engineer - Distributed Systems Infrastructure Startup

Location: Remote

The company can hire engineers from mid to senior to lead level (managing 3-5 people).

You would be working remotely.

The company is founded by leading minds in the container and Kubernetes space.

The company's product is for medium to large enterprises and involves distributed systems, infrastructure, cluster optimization, and Kubernetes. It makes infrastructure more efficient.

The company has about 17 employees (mostly engineers) and is planning to grow to 50 employees in the next 8 months.

The company will pay competitive salary plus equity which could be very lucrative.

Job Responsibilities:

- Primarily using JavaScript and React.

- Leading the SaaS Platform’s UI Development efforts.

- Leading the UI team towards delivering on the company’s multi-year vision with incremental deliverables.

- Engaging in and improving the whole lifecycle of features, from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement.

- Engaging in the cradle to grave design process, from requirements gathering with PMs, UX ideation with Design, system design/API feedback to backend, & capacity planning, and pre-/post-launch reviews.

- Maintaining UI related services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.

Qualifications:
 
- A Bachelor's degree in in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

- At least 5 years of experience working on Front End technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, VueJS, EmberJS.

- Understanding of front end architecture.

- Extensive experience with React.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Passion for user experience and design.

  Nice to have:

- Understanding of HCI.

- Typescript, gRPC, Protocol Buffer, GraphQL as well as other UI and API frameworks.

- Experience with Carbon Design System.

- Experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems with industry wide impact.

- Experience with a container orchestration framework such as Kubernetes, Mesos, or Nomad.

- Experience developing UI for Infrastructure management products like Cluster managers, Systems managers (vCenter, Google Cloud Console, AWS Console, Azure Console, Microsoft Systems Center, vCenter Operations), Observability platforms (Datadog, New Relic, Splunk etc.) & Resource Managers (Mesos, Yarn, Kubernetes, Nomad).
