Overview of position:
FEDITC is seeking an experienced Network Engineer, ll to work at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, AFB. United States Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier ll Network Support.
- Ultimate responsibility for enterprise network designs and solutions, installs, configures, operates, and maintains a variety of network equipment and architectures, mostly packetized environments.
- Focused on enterprise wide end to end systems (i.e. Network analysis and design, system integration. Responsible for troubleshooting, testing, scripting, TCP/IPv4/6, Ethernet, ISDN/BRI/PRI, commercial SATCOM, and various other communications and network protocols, VLANs, VPN.
- In addition, data encryption, network management, information systems/network security, routers, switches, TCP accelerators, VoIP devices, Voice Exchange Appliances, firewalls, Windows and Linux/Unix servers, virtualized environments (VMWare).
- Backup principle and various storage architectures and principles, premise wire and cable plant (especially with regard to TEMPEST/separation techniques and requirements), IA,DR etc.) and related ancillary systems/services. As Site Lead, responsible for the operations and staff at JBLM.
Experience/Skills:
- Seven (7) or more years of related experience.
- Cisco CCNP or better with specialties in Voice and Security or related expertise or equivalent experience and at least one engineer
- Talari T5000, Cisco and Dell Storage Area Networks
- Cisco routers, Cisco switches
- Sonus/Ribbon VX appliances
- High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryption (HAIPE) Inline Network Encryptor (INE)
- General Dynamics TACLANE KG 175Gs
- SkyX, Cisco WAAS data accelerators
- McAfee firewalls
- VPN’s, Sourcefire network defense sensors, Intrusion Prevention system
- VMWare servers, Backup software solution, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Cisco UCS, Dell Unity, Storage Area Network
- KLAS Voyager Executive Communications Kit (ECK)
- Spectracom Secure Sync
- Network Time Servers, Moxa, Device Monitoring system,
- Perle IOLAN SCS, remote console management, Adtran Multiplexer.
Education:
- BA/BS Degree
Certifications:
- IAT II certification required
- MS MCSE (role base certification) or better or related expertise or equivalent experience
- Desired: MCP/MCSE (role base certification), CCIE, CISSP, and hands-on experience with Apcon switch
Clearance:
- A Secret clearance is required to be considered for the position.
- Must be a US Citizen and pass a background check.
- Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITCS Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
