Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.
  • If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.
  • If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

Education & Experience Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, business administration, computer science or related field
  • Six or more years of professional job related experience in digital product design/development or related experience
  • Experience with technology or digital delivery

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Education & Experience Preferred
  • Certification in Design Thinking or other human centered design approaches

Job Summary

Responsible for designing and delivering on Aflac's vision of creating a unified, seamless digital experience across channels that enables customers to engage with us whenever, wherever, and however they prefer. Understand and advocate for customer needs, working with key business partners, digital execution, and brand marketing teams to ensure strategic alignment, guide prioritization, and ultimately improve the value derived from digital investments.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Strategically influences the design of digital solutions by collaborating closely with product managers and owners during agile ceremonies; designs digital engagements that deliver the optimal customer experience and improve operational efficiency, focusing on opportunities identified through service design.
  • Helps translate user needs and business priorities into compelling digital solutions that are intuitive and drive higher adoption and customer satisfaction.
  • Leads the creation and implementation of digital strategy and standards, partnering with crossfunctional stakeholders in business and digital services to gain alignment and ensure delivery of a seamless end-to-end experiences that improves ease.
  • Works horizontally to define and influence customer roadmaps; connecting the dots among products and services in the customer journey and guides prioritization across the enterprise for customer groups; understanding their current state experience and the pain points they face, as well as the ideal experience that we are striving to achieve.
  • Proactively identifies and directs improvements to optimize digital solutions; ensures we are delivering upon our customer experience commitment of providing Assurance, Convenience, and Value by employing user-centered design approaches.
  • Delivers common user research and experience methods such as usability testing, heuristic reviews, wireframes, prototypes and screen mockups to help communicate to various audiences when needed.
  • Helps to evolve the current set of design tools and standards, advocating for applying humancentered design to digital product development; increases understanding and advocates for design thinking.
  • Builds and cultivates strong relationships across the organization and partners with those responsible for delivering digital solutions for assigned customer segment
  • Leads and manages medium to large-scale initiatives as assigned; manages two or more projects simultaneously; ensures the projects drive value and meet agreed upon success criteria.
  • Performs other duties as required.


Total Rewards

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $160,000.
