Cloud Architect
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and strategic Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of cloud solutions with a focus on on-premise to cloud migrations with a focus on Azure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in workload sizing, migration strategy, cost analysis, and network design. You will collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions tailored to business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Migration Strategy:
- Assess existing on-premise infrastructure and applications.
- Define end-to-end migration plans including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecting strategies.
- Lead and coordinate the execution of cloud migration initiatives.
- Sizing and Architecture:
- Perform capacity planning and right-sizing analysis of workloads.
- Design scalable and resilient cloud architecture tailored to performance and cost requirements.
- Cost Analysis & Optimization:
- Conduct cloud cost analysis and ROI assessments for migration projects.
- Recommend cost optimization strategies using reserved instances, autoscaling, serverless, and more.
- Utilize tools like AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management.
- Collaboration and Documentation:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, operations, and security.
- Create detailed architecture diagrams, runbooks, and technical documentation.
- Network and Security Design:
- Design secure and highly available hybrid network architectures (VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with corporate security standards and industry best practices.
- Define identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and firewall policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in cloud architecture, with hands-on experience in migration from on-premise environments to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Certifications (preferred):
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
Technical Skills:
Cloud Platforms: Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure with hands-on experience in core services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Databases, Monitoring).
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Proficiency in workload assessment tools (Azure Migrate, AWS Migration Hub, etc.)
- Network and security design: VPC/VNet, subnets, firewalls, routing, VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute
Azure-Specific Tools & Services:- Azure Migrate for assessment and migration of on-premise workloads
- Azure Site Recovery (ASR) for business continuity and disaster recovery
- Azure Cost Management and Billing for cost tracking and optimization
- Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for observability
- Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and Bicep for infrastructure as code
- Azure Virtual Network (VNet), Network Security Groups (NSGs), Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, and VPN Gateway for network and security design
- Azure Active Directory (AAD) and RBAC for identity and access control
- Multi-Tenant Architecture & B2B Management:
Experience designing and managing multi-tenants on Azure using shared and isolated models
Configuration and governance of Azure AD B2B (Business-to-Business) collaboration- Secure external identity federation and cross-tenant access policies
- Custom branding, Terms of Use, and user lifecycle management
- Centralized identity and access governance for multi-directory or cross-tenant environments
Hybrid Cloud- Hybrid environments using Azure Arc, Azure Stack, and on-premises integrations
- Migration & Sizing Tools:
- Familiarity with Azure TCO Calculator, Azure Pricing Calculator.
