Mid-Level Distribution Engineer

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Distribution Engineer to join the Power Delivery Distribution Department in Baton Rouge, LA.
Roles and Responsibilities
- The qualified candidate should be familiar with the design and operation of utility electrical systems which they can apply their knowledge for developing new designs
- The ability to apply engineering calculations to various project challenges to develop the most complete and competent design
- Perform quality reviews of project deliverables
- A BSEE, BSEET, BSME or BSCE degree, from an ABET accredited university, preferably with a power option
- Three (3) + years of experience in the design and operation of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV)
- The qualified candidate should be experienced with utility standards, joint facilities design, compatible units, and construction package development
- Prior experience working closely with an electric utility or electric co-op
- Familiarity with distribution design software, both overhead and underground, the National Electric Safety Code, and utility best practices
- Strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skills
- Must be able to successfully pass client's background screening process
- Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Professional Engineering license (P.E.) or ability to achieve P.E. within six (6) months of hire date
- Exposure to utility Geographical Information Systems (GIS); GE Smallworld, ArcFM, DDS etc.
- The ability to lead and direct a team of engineers, designers, and drafters
- Travel should be expected
