Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

SAIC is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with a strong desire to enhance technical communication and collaboration for the NRO's Integrated Systems Program Office (ISPO) with the Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED) in Chantilly, VA. The ISPO is an OPIR Joint Program Office responsible for acquiring the Overhead Persistence GEOINT Architecture (OPGA) that will provide the user community with OPIR capabilities in a modular, open architecture that provides global, persistent, real-time surveillance and activity-based intelligence information.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will architect, build, and design solutions that integrate public Cloud services, incorporate techniques like Infrastructure as Code to ensure repeatable deployment of resources, and provide expertise in the use of Cloud reference architectures and solutions to support software development in a DevOps environment.

SPECIFIC TASKING:
  • Previous experience creating/updating cloud environment configurations to establish/support application workloads, including:

    o Azure Focused: Configuration of Subscriptions, Resource Groups, VNets, Subnets, load balancers, App Services, Azure Batch, Virtual Machines, resource tagging, billing, policy implementation, and security control.

    o AWS Focused: Configuration of AWS Accounts, IAM Users and Roles, VPCs, subnets, load balancers, Network routes, Transit Gateway, Control Tower, Systems Manager, Config Manager, stack sets, WAF, CloudFront, and Route53.
  • Supporting data calls for resources provisioned within the cloud environment and reporting out status of resources.
  • Identifying and communicating opportunities for improving agency security posture within cloud environments.
  • Collaborating with external development teams to understand cloud workload solution architecture within agency AWS/Azure environment.
  • Working with technical staff documenting technical and programmatic requirements.
  • Effectively work with development teams to track technical progress, identify blockers to progress, and assess technical solutions.
  • Support SAFe Agile program development processes and activities.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience or a PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.
  • Experience working within the IC.
  • Demonstrated understanding of principals supporting infrastructure components including compute, network, and storage, with 7 years total hands-on experience in technology.
  • Demonstrated understanding of principals configurating and supporting application workloads within the Azure or AWS Cloud.
  • Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment.
  • Working knowledge of AGILE Scrum and SAFe software development methods.
  • Working knowledge of IC principles and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and various SE, PM tools.

    **May require overnight travel up to 2 percent of the work year.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong understanding of cloud engineering methods, applications, and best practices across cloud service providers.
  • Experience assessing, customizing, troubleshooting, optimizing, and maintaining current and emerging technologies, platforms, and applications to help ensure greater security and efficiencies, covering network, compute and storage principals.
  • Experience with cloud orchestration tools and continuous delivery processes to deploy and manage cloud infrastructure for customers to consume.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate and/or Azure Administrator Associate certifications or higher.
  • Direct OPIR, GEOINT and/or SIGINT experience.
  • Direct experience supporting USAF SMC SBIRS System Program Office business operations/programs.
