ABOUT THE ROLE Due to sustained growth and increasing operational complexity, the Company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their accounting and finance team. Reporting directly to the Group Controller, this role will play a key part in financial reporting, general accounting, reconciliations, and project accounting functions, while supporting the organization s continued expansion. This is a fully onsite position based at the company s North Dallas headquarters. This role is a corporate accounting position but also assists with branch accounting tasks. This person will provide expertise in percentage of completion accounting for Company projects and will work closely with operations and field offices. This role will also be responsible for intercompany accounting and consolidations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

CORE ACCOUNTING

• Responsible for general ledger and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end closes.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare and analyze Percentage of Completion (POC) and Work in Progress (WIP) reports with accuracy and attention to detail
• Maintain financial integrity across entities and business units

OPERATIONS & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

• Partner with operations and cross functional teams to ensure accurate and consistent expense coding.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy across accounting systems.
• Support the ongoing implementation and optimization of MS 365 Dynamics Business Central across several branch implementations.

COMPLIANCE

• Assist with annual audit and tax filings by coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations, including sales tax reporting.

FINANCIAL REPORTING

• Prepare monthly financial statements for bank reporting including tracking ongoing debt covenants.
• Perform variance analysis and investigate variances on monthly financial statements to maintain financial control and clarity to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with finance team on budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Perform consolidation and eliminations for group financial reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-5 years of progressive experience to include industry and public accounting experience desired (preferably in construction)
• CPA designation or currently eligible to sit for the CPA exam strongly preferred
• MBA or Master s in Accounting preferred
• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP accounting.
• Strong proficiency in MS Business Central and advanced Excel skills
• Experience with Percentage of Completion (POC) reporting is strongly preferred.
• Previous external audit experience preferred
• Exceptional analytical and reconciliation skills required
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication abilities
• Self-starter, independent worker desired who works well in a very team-oriented environment.
