Overview / Role Summary

The Palantir / Foundry Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, configuration, and governance of Palantir Foundry instance. The role ensures appropriate access, manages resource usage, supports onboarding, integrates data sources, and enforces security and compliance standards. The administrator will work cross-functionally with data engineers, product owners, security, and business stakeholders to deliver a stable, scalable, and secure platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage user identities, roles, groups, and permission sets via Foundry's Control Panel / organization settings
  • Create, modify, and enforce role sets and custom roles (project, ontology, marketplace contexts)
  • Oversee access request flows and approval workflows for data and resources
  • Monitor platform resource usage (compute, memory, storage), quotas, and optimization
  • Support ingestion and integration of new data sources (cloud, on-prem, APIs)
  • Monitor pipelines and operational health, respond to incidents, and support troubleshooting
  • Manage change, release, and incident management processes
  • Enforce security, compliance, and data governance policies
  • Collaborate with internal teams (data engineering, security, product, business units) to define requirements, best practices, and upgrades
  • Provide training, documentation, and support to users of the platform
  • Periodically audit roles, permission drift, and access sprawl
  • Assist with scaling, upgrades, and migration efforts

Qualifications / Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Several years of experience administering enterprise platforms or data platforms
  • Familiarity with access control, IAM, RBAC concepts, role sets, and permission models
  • Experience in data integration / ETL, APIs, cloud/on-premise connectivity
  • Strong security and compliance mindset (e.g. handling PII, sensitive data)
  • Scripting or automation experience (Python, Python(Spark), Java, SQL , R, shell, etc.)
  • Good problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Prior experience with Palantir Foundry or similar platforms

Nice-to-haves / Bonus

  • Certification in Palantir Foundry
  • Experience with data governance, data catalog, metadata management
  • Experience with large scale data systems, distributed computing, or cloud infrastructure
